Knowing that something is for you

In 2015, I walked into a store. It was huge, filled with lavish furnishings from different parts of the world, boho meets hippie, meets goth, meets vintage. Everything in the store was handmade, recycled, and upcycled. It was the type of place where you could inhale the vibe and walk away feeling inspired. I thought to myself, this place needs a clairvoyant reader. Then, as if with the sudden awareness of coming out of amnesia, I had an additional thought...oh wait, I'm clairvoyant! I can read tarot, meditate, read photos, and psychometrically read objects. I could be their clairvoyant! Fishing through my handbag and pulling out my business card, I approached the front counter, introduced myself, asked to see the manager, gave my 5-minute elevator speech, left my card and departed. I'd been brave and done my thing, but it was up to fate to do its magic.

Fast forward two years, I was in a second-hand shop when I spied a beautiful hand-stitched tapestry of the taming of the unicorn. An image of a seer holding a crystal ball, standing alongside a multi-arched tent with a unicorn to the side. It just spoke to me. It reminded me of the 9 of the Coins tarot card, a card depicting a single woman creating her opportunities in life. She is a manifester and co-creator of her life. She is me, in tarot form. After purchasing her, I created a special place for her within my home. She fitted in nicely amongst the art I've made or collected throughout the years.

A few days later, I received a call from the manager of the magical store that I had fallen in love with years earlier. Since leaving my card there, I had not ventured in again. She was looking for a psychic clairvoyant for an event and stumbled across my card in the back of a draw. I wasn't her first choice; in fact, she reached out to 3 other psychics before me. She wasn't the original manager that I spoke with three years earlier; she has been the 3rd manager since then. I didn't care, the place had my name written all over it.

I arrived on the event day and saw the most beautiful tent in the centre of the store. It was highly adorned with arches coming together in a hexagon shape. It was magic. In the centre were two chairs and a table with a crystal ball in the middle. It's almost a mirror image of what I've seen in the tapestry that I purchased the week before. I knew that this was the place for me.

I did the event and had a blast. Feeling inspired, I asked the manager if it was possible to come back on an ongoing basis. We negotiated. I'd lower my prices if she didn't charge me rent. Neither knew how it would go; the store had never employed a clairvoyant before, and I'd never read in a store before. But I was willing to be brave if she was. It was a good partnership, lasting for nearly three years. I honed my craft and met many amazing people who are still friends. It gave me the confidence to work independently, run my own business, and put what I do into daily practice. So I ask you today, what is it, dear reader, that fuels your heart? What is the thing, no matter how weird or wacky it may seem, that energises you to get up rain, hail or shine and deliver the best version of yourself? I encourage you to consider this path. To take that leap of faith into the unknown, to embrace the fear of the unknown, knowing that success may appear in many forms, but the most rewarding is the success of the heart. It's about bringing yourself, showing up for yourself authentically within the world, and knowing that you will find the places, the people and the timing that aligns to co-create with you.
